Your Questions Answered

  • If you are on the wait list is a deposit required?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure your spot on the waitlist. This helps us ensure serious inquiries and allows us to reserve a goat just for you. Your deposit will be applied toward the final purchase price.
  • Are farm visits permitted?
Yes, we welcome farm visits! However, all visits must be scheduled in advance to ensure we can provide you with the best experience and dedicated time with our goats. Please contact us to arrange your visit.
  • What is needed when transporting goats over state lines?
It's important to check with your local agriculture office for specific requirements, as they can vary by state. Generally, you'll need a scrapie tag or registration papers, along with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian to ensure the goats are healthy for transport.
  • How much land is needed for goats?
Stocking rate is key to maintaining a healthy herd, but this can vary depending on the type of forage available on your land and whether you supplement with grain. It's a subjective topic, and for more precise guidance, we recommend reaching out to your local agriculture office, as they can provide insights specific to your area.
  • Does a goat need shelter?
Yes, goats absolutely need shelter to protect them from extreme weather conditions, such as rain, snow, wind, and intense heat. A simple, well-ventilated structure can provide the necessary protection, keeping your goats healthy and comfortable year-round.
  • Can you have a single goat?
Goats are herd animals, meaning they naturally thrive when kept with others of their kind. While some people have successfully kept a single goat, it’s not ideal. To ensure your goat is happy and healthy, we recommend having at least two goats, as they do best when part of a herd, even if it's just a small one.
